A full circle moment

A year ago on April 21st we heard the words we had been praying to hear for so long, that we were pregnant and going to be a mommy and daddy. They weren't suppose to call until that afternoon however the call came in early and on my cell needless to say I was panicked that it was not good and would not answer until I got home and when she said I have good news I could not believe it and made her say it again. After the whole shock factor and pulling myself together I had to think fast on how to tell Matthew so I ran down to hibbetts and got the first baby thing I could find which were these socks. I then called him to come home to be with me since we had waited for this called before and not gotten good news only this time we did, so when he got home I put these socks in his hands and said here's a little something to make your day better and that's all I remember because the tears were over taking us both and now a year later that little miracle is wearing those socks and boy don't they look good!! All I can say is God is Awesome and never give up hope because he does answer prayers!!!

Theme week at school

Last week at school was National week of the Young Child, there was fun things planned for the children everyday as well as a theme for each day. Since Talan was sick at the beginning of the week he could not participate but he did get in atleast two days. Camo day and favorite team day. The camo pants were a little snug but we made them work for just one more wear. He was looking at his daddy in both these pictures he had just came in from work and Talan was glad to see him.

Talan has found his feet

This little boy learns something new everyday, he is constantly grabbing for things and realized that he can grab his feet so now he sits in this position most of the time trying to get them if only that belly wasn't in his way I do believe he would have them in his mouth.

Enjoying a pretty day!

I decided what Talan needed was some good fresh air so we headed outside to wait on our daddy to come home, while we were out there we explore the grass for the first time. It was so funny he wouldn't put his feet down in it for the longest, then finally he relaxed and didn't mind it a bit and once he realized he could pull the grass he went to town grabbing at it. He is getting more and more adventurous when it comes to touching and reaching for things. We are amazed at him everyday at what he can do, he's such a big boy!!

We just hope it doesn't come back those nasty coodie bugs are not fun!! We had gotten out his exersaucer when he started feeling bad so he really wasn't interested but now he is and he has been studying it over.

Talan's First Ball Game

Here are a few pictures from last week, since little man's been not feeling well I haven't been as good keeping up so these are a little out of order but they were so cute I had to put them in. If he could have talked he would have cheered on his Olivia, he was very interested in what was going on.

Olivia's Game

We went to watch Olivia play ball on Friday night. She is on the Tiny Tarts team, each of the teams is called names of candy. They play through their Church (Gardendale First Baptist) which is really neat. They have their on ball park and for the younger kids they all get to play and at different spots each time out and they all get a chance to bat and of course run the bases. Olivia's favorite thing is to call time which she is doing in the middle bottom picture. Its definitely different then playing ball elsewhere it was a very calm environment and all the kids were having fun, no one was yelling except to cheer them on and they all go home a winner.

Me and my Uncle William

After the game we went to get dinner and William finally got a chance to hold little man. Due to the high demand from the children and Aunt Lissa he rarely gets a chance to get Talan so while everyone was eating he got his turn and Talan sure was glad.

In Daddy's hands everything is OK

A little update on our little guy. He had his 4 month check up last Thursday and he now weighs 16.61/2 lbs and is 25.25 inches long and doing great. Dr. Hardwick was impressed with him and sure made us feel like we were doing something right. Everything would be great expect that Talan has had some congestion since starting school and we thought it would just go away and even the Doc said it was fine and just to keep an eye on him. But, his little cough just got worse and poor little guy has been trying so hard to be the little happy fellow that he is but its hard when you feel crappy. So we went back to the doc on Tuesday and sure enough his cough had gotten worse it had turned into a bronchial cough and it had caused irritation in his throat so now we are on 2 antibiotics to help get rid of this nasty thing!! He has been having to sleep in his papasan chair so he can breath better at night. Here I caught a sweet moment b/w daddy and son, he held onto to his daddy's fingers until he fell asleep, that daddy made everything better and made mommys heart melt.

Day 2 of the exersaucer and looking cool!!

He's getting the hang of it. It kinda of looks like he's holding on and thinking what are they doing to me.

Exersaucer time!!

At school the other day I went to go peek in on my little guy and they had him in the exersaucer seeing if he would like it and of course I had to run go get my camera. He's not real sure about it just yet, give him a few times in it and I think he will love it. You know what we will be putting together this weekend!!

Good night Daddy!!

Matthew was putting Talan down the other night and just when he thought he was out he got this precious look. How can you resist that? So, of course he got him up and rocked just a little longer.

Wow, this thing is really neat!!

Talan finally realized that this thing is actually fun. He knows that whenever he moves the music starts playing and that those animals hanging down are fun to grab. He just might like sitting in it more now that its entertaining to him.

Best Buddies

Since Talan has started school he has not gotten to see his cousins like he had been so we went to visit them on Tuesday to get some lovin that he has been missin. These two are so sweet together and I do believe that have missed each other more than they realized.
