OUR LAST CHRISTMAS DAY ADVENTURE...

Later Christmas night we drove out to Kimberly to see what Santa had brought the kids. While we were there MeLissa and William wanted to show us this house out in Mt. Olive so we all loaded up yes a little illegal but it was not far. Anyway this house has its own radio station so when you get there you tune into it and there is music playing and they have their lights program to go with the music and there are a thousand lights all over the house, front yard, side and back yard. It really is very neat and something everyone needs to see. It was definitly a fun way to end our wonderful day. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and I think I am finally done with Christmas pics there was just so much to share.

CHRISTMAS DAY AT MY MOMS...

We had our annual Christmas breakfast at my moms and then we watched the kids open their gifts and the grown ups played dirty santa. Matthew almost ended up with a pretty necklace but it got stolen and I don't think he minded especially when he ended up with a gift card. After all the gift opening we did my favorite part just hanging out with everyone playing with the toys and enjoying being together with nothing else to have to do. We are so thankful for all the fun stuff we got but most important we are thankful for having our families!!

CHRISTMAS MORNING...

Talan loved what Santa brought him so much that he decided to call to tell him thank you. Santa will hopefully be bringing a swing set but that will be closer to summer I don't think Talan will mind.

LITTLE STINKER..

Talan was doing so good not bothering the gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve, I was getting ready for the day and thought he was in the den playing when I had not heard him in awhile so I went looking and when he heard me getting closer he bolted he was squealing and going as fast as his little legs would let him down the hall and into our bedroom. He is so silly I think he thought I couldn't see him. Oh well it was Christmas eve why not let him play anyway all he wanted was the ribbon.

MAKING COOKIES WITH MY GIRLS...

Christmas Eve night the O'Brien Family stopped by and luckily I had some cookies to bake for Santa. This is one of our traditions and we almost forgot this year. I have not been good this year in remembering all of our little traditions we have made over the years but I promised them I would do better next year. (My brain was totally taken over by birthday this year)

CHRISTMAS EVE WITH FRIENDS...

We went over to our friends Joy and Chads house on Christmas Eve for a little get together. We ate some yummy food and the kids exchanged gifts which they had a blast doing even though Talan just wanted the paper. It was so nice getting together and seeing everyone its normally just the ladies with the kids but the daddy's were there as well which was nice. Julie, Chad and Collin were supposed to be there as well but poor little Collin got sick and was not feeling well so we hated not seeing them!! Hopefully this is a new tradition we will start so we can do it again next year.

CHRISTMAS EVE EVE AT THE TURNERS

Sunday night we went over to Matthew's parents for Christmas, we normally do Christmas on Christmas Eve but Mrs. Turner had to work so we got together earlier this year. Talan had fallen asleep on the way over so it took him a little while to warm up but when he did he was ready to go. We ate some yummy food and got some great gifts. Talan loved his hat, gloves and slippers he got from his Aunt Leigh once we put them on him they stayed on until we got home. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending time with our family.

YEAH!! WE FINALLY PUT OUR TREE UP

We waited until after his party to put the tree up so we would have more room so we finally got it up Tuesday night. I do believe this is the last year for this tree, Matthew is not so gentle and it is very very old but it has been a very good tree for us. Talan did his best to help his daddy out and was very interested in trying to figure out what this tree was doing in our house.

BEING ONE STARTED OUT BUMPY...

Talan got his first real big boo boo at school Monday. He fell and hit the side of a table and bang his forehead. He was tough his teachers said and only cried for a little while my poor baby. So when we got home of course we had to take pictures but it didn't seem to bother him a bit he had to get busy playing with all his new toys. He loves this little ride on toy from Uncle Bubba and Brandi especially when daddy pushes him so fast. Him had a rough first day back at school being one so he was pooped when it was time to go to bed he was out!!

The Performing Family...

Anna and I went to hear Melissa and the girls sing in their Christmas program at their church (Gardendale First Baptist) last Sunday night and it was wonderful. If your not familiar with GFB it is a huge church and they have amazing programs. My sister with her beautiful voice is in the choir and my talented and very bubbly nieces are in the children's choir and they did a awesome job!!!

Just a little trip down memory lane... last year I was unable to attend due to being in the hosptial delivering our baby boy.

OUR SWEET BABY BOY!!

Its hard to believe our little chunk use to be this little. What a wonderful year it has been!! Matthew and I could have never dreamed how rewarding being parents would be and even though we've only be at it for a year now we could not imagine being anything else. God is so good and we thank him everyday for the precious gift he has given us in our little angel. Dreams do come true if you have faith in Him!!

RESTED AND READY TO PLAY!!

After a good nights rest Talan was up and ready to play with all his new toys, that is after a yummy bottle. We will be switching to straight sippy cups in the next week or so. I have put it off due to him only taking 2 bottles one in the morning and one at night until we were ok to start whole milk from the doctor. We go Thursday for our one year so say a little prayer for our little guy to be brave, he did not like the flu shot we got a couple of weeks ago so I am worried that this round of shots are not going to be fun at all. Wish us luck!!

PARTY TIME

Talan had the best time at his party and loved everyone being at his house to play.

I walked outside and Talan was leading everyone in. Let the party begin!! This is some of Matthew's family that came and we were so excited to see them.

This was one of his beautiful bday cakes that his wonderful teacher Mrs. Becky made. It was better than I could have ever imagined and tasted delicious. She did a wonderful job and could never thank her enough for working her magic.

CAKE TIME which lasted a long long time..but I don't think he minded

The opening of his gifts and then overseeing the putting together of them.

This little boy had a wonderful day and loved having all his family and friends over to celebrate his big day. Thanks everyone for helping make Talan's first bday filled with so much love and so many wonderful memories.
