Just a strollin!

On Friday we also went on our first walk. It was too nice outside to stay in so we went around the block and Talan seemed to really enjoy it. He stayed wided eyed the whole time. I have to say it was nice for me as well.

4 Weeks Old

Yesterday, Friday the 11th Talan turned 4 weeks old. I can't believe it. It has been so much fun and Matthew and I feel like we have done a pretty good job so far. I am amazed how he has changed just in these short few weeks. He also made some big milestones today as well. His little umbilical cord fell off, (yeah!!!) he is now taking 4 to 5 oz., he now wears the size one diapers and he is fitting better in the newborn clothes. He also is sporting his first pair of shoes that his Aunt Melissa got him on our outing on Thursday. We thought they were precious but it won't be long before he is out of them, sadly he is doomed to have big feet with his daddy and I. I don't want him to grow to fast but it is exciting when big things happen.

Toy time

Talan got a new toy from our friends Pam,Macy and Jack yesterday so we decided to see if he wanted to play with it. Matthew thought I was crazy but after a little while with me shaking it he started following it with his eyes and I say he reached for it but Matthew thinks different. Anyway he liked it so much to the point it wore him slap out.

Our first real outing.

Today we went on our first real outing by ourselves. We did met up with my sister Melissa and Harrison so we weren't all alone. We went and got our eyebrows waxed. Doesn't that sound fun. Believe it or not it actually was very pleasant. I get my hair done on Valleydale road at Gates of Pearl Hairspa and they are wonderful there. When we walked in they all stopped what they were doing to come and look at little Talan. They were so excited to see what he was. I was in there getting my hair cut a week before he was born and they were all predicting what he would be. They were half right. They treated him like a little king and it was so sweet. He needed a diaper change and they cleaned off a spa bed for me to change him on. I'm telling you what I know where to go to get special treatment but I have to make sure little Talan is with me. It was nice getting out and Talan was such a good boy.

I love my hands!

My little guy loves his hands. He constantly has them in his face or moving them around. He has started being more and more alert and staying awake a little more these days. I can't believe how much he has changed in just a few weeks. I know one thing being a mommy is a wonderful experience and I am so glad to finally be one.

Visiting Daddy at work

We went to visit daddy at the hardware store and to have lunch with him. Talan definitly got some attention while we were there. People came in saying is that the Turner boy. It is so sweet how so many of our customers have been so supportive and interested in our little Talan. Before we know it he will be up there running around helping his daddy.

Here are a few snapshots of my bday party. I do believe Talan was the hit of the night.

Friday January 5th I turned the Big 30!! It wasn't as bad as everyone says. I didn't want anything done this year due to all that has been going on with us however my sweet husband thought different. He started my day out with a very yummy breakfast and then he had gotten a few friends and our families together at my moms for some cake and ice cream that evening. He was very presisted that I had to blow all 30 candles out on the cake. He thought I couldn't handle it however I proved him wrong by blowing them all out with one try. We had a very good time and it was fun seeing everyone. There were so many babies there. You can definitly tell where we are all at in our lives and it is so fun!! My lovely crown was given to me by my sister in law Brandi, it was a hit with all the girls and I have to say it was a great added accessory. All in all it was a great birthday and I thank everyone for all you did to help Matthew out. I feel very blessed and look forward to the days ahead.

Such a big boy!

Look at my big boy. I was feeding him this morning and I guess I wasn't doing it right so he decided to take over. It didn't last long however I was able to capture the moment.

We tried taking a nap in our big boy bed on Wednesday the 3rd. He slept for about 35 minutes and he was ready for his mommy to get him and his mommy was ready to get him as well. I think we are not ready for that big step just yet so we will try again later.

Doctor Day

On Thursday, January 4th Talan had to go to the doctor for his 3 week check up. He was such a big boy and did not even cry when they went to prick his heel. His daddy was holding him so I think that made it even better for him. Anyway he is now 7.5 1/2lbs and 20 1/2 inches long. The hospital had his length wrong they said he was 21 1/4 inches when he was only 20 1/4 inches. I got scared there for a second thinking he had shrunk but it was just a minor mistake. Next visit is going to be the bad one when he has to get all his shots which we are not looking forward to.

Christmas morning at BeBe's house for breakfast. This Christmas Matthew and I got the best present we could have ever received and we thank God for him every second of everyday!!

Our friends Julie and Collin

Our friends Julie and Collin came over on Christmas Eve. They live in Mississippi and we love it when they come home to visit. This was Collin first time to meet Talan and he was so sweet!! Us mommies are going to have our hands full with all these little boys! Collin will be turning 1 years old on Jan. 6th and we hope he has a great 1st birthday. We love you!!

Making Cookies for Santa

Every Christmas Eve Eve it is our tradition to do something fun whether it is going to see a Christmas movie or going to get our nails done and we always make cookies for Santa. However this year with little Talan we decided just to make cookies. Talan wasn't very interested this time so we let him rest while we worked on our cookies. I am not sure why the kids pictures duplicated and I could not figure it out so I just let it be. Anyway we had a great time and it will be interesting to see what we do next year when Talan is a year old.

Christmas Eve Eve

We went over to the Turner's for Christmas Eve Eve Dinner. It was Talan's first Christmas party to go to and he did so good. All he did was sleep until we got him half naked so he would wake up to eat. Look at Pop Jim he is a pro.

This is one of my favorite pictures of our little guy. Matthew had to go to work today (Friday, the 22nd) and I was sad until this little guy starting smiling for his mommy. Luckily I was able to capture it so his daddy could see it as well.

B ack Tracking

To back track here are some of the first pictures we made with our new camera. We went to take the first 5 rolls of Talan's birth to get developed and the next day Matthew went out and got us a digital camera. He knew we would go broke buying film if not. No matter what though I will always use my 35 mil.. Talan was 6 days old in these pictures. Our friend miss Tawny from work gave us this cute outfit, it swallowed him up but it was still cute. Thanks miss Tawny!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Talan and his mommy and daddy want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!! Isn't he precious!! I had fun with this! I will add the other pictures as soon as I figure out the collage thing. My how things change in a year. This time last year we were bringing in the new year in Dallas and this year we are hanging out with our little guy and we wouldn't want it any other way!
